About Us
Our Story
Through a Child’s Eyes is a thoughtfully curated intimate, Montessori microschool located in the heart of McDonough, Georgia. Founded by a dedicated Montessori-trained educator and mother, this learning community was created from a deep calling—to provide her own children, and families in the surrounding community, with a truly authentic Montessori experience.
Grounded in the core principles of respect, care, and intentionality, Through a Child’s Eyes offers more than just education—it offers a sanctuary for growth, curiosity, and connection. In a time when traditional education systems face increasing uncertainty, this pod stands as a beacon of stability and purpose, honoring the individual potential of each child and nurturing their development with compassion and integrity.
As we look toward expansion in the 2026–2027 school year, our commitment remains clear: to deliver an exceptional Montessori education that supports not just the child, but the entire family. We recognize that a successful educational journey is built on collaboration, and we actively foster strong partnerships among parents, caregivers, educators, and administrators.
At Through a Child’s Eyes, we place great importance on helping families understand and embrace the core principles of Montessori education. From the very beginning, we aim to build a shared foundation of trust, respect, and purpose—ensuring that every child is supported in becoming a confident, curious, and compassionate learner.
Our Mission
At Through a Child’s Eyes, our mission is to provide an authentic Montessori education that nurtures the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—within a warm, intentionally prepared environment. Rooted in the belief that education is a shared journey, we foster strong partnerships between families and educators to support each child’s natural development. As we grow, we remain committed to empowering children to become confident, curious, and compassionate individuals who thrive at home, in school, and in the world.
Our Philosophy
At Through a Child’s Eyes, success is defined not solely by academic performance, but by the development of the whole child. Our Primary Program, serving children ages 2.5 to 6, is designed to cultivate confident, capable individuals who are prepared to thrive—at home, in school, in the community, and throughout life.
Guided by the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori, we provide a thoughtfully prepared environment that supports each child’s natural development. Purposefully designed with child-sized furnishings and scientifically developed materials, our classrooms encourage independence, curiosity, and purposeful exploration.
Central to this experience is our dedicated Montessori-trained educator, who serves as an observant guide rather than a traditional instructor. Through intentional interactions, our teacher inspires and empowers each child—fostering independence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
At Through a Child’s Eyes, success is measured by more than academic milestones; it is reflected in a child’s growing confidence, critical thinking, and intrinsic motivation to engage with the world in meaningful and thoughtful ways.
